A former dentist in Massachusetts admitted to using paper clips instead of steel posts when performing root canal procedures, by entering a guilty plea to a slew of charges this week.

Michael Clair, 53, was charged with Medicaid fraud, assault and drug-related crimes while operating Harbour Dental in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Clair's incompetent practices included shoddy dental work, prescribing pain killers to his employees, and using other dentists to bill Medicaid after he was banned from performing work for Medicaid patients.

Clair, who is scheduled to be sentenced Monday, was licensed to practice dentistry from 2003 to 2005, when his license was revoked by the state.
