The Coastal Connection Scenic Byway is perhaps the most beautiful roadway along Alabama’s Gulf Coast. This byway is approximately 130 miles long and spans through two counties in Alabama: Mobile and Baldwin. 

This byway is almost a continuous loop, beginning on I-10 West in Grand Bay and ending on I-10 East in the City of Daphne. Along the way, it passes through many coastal towns where you can stop, stretch your legs, and fill up your gas tank.   • Irvington

One of the most notable attractions along this route is Dauphin Island. This island, known as the “Sunset Capital of Alabama,” offers the perfect beach town atmosphere, with shops, restaurants, beaches, boat cruises, and more. 

All Around Town Ride

If you’re looking for a route that takes you to some historical and natural attractions throughout Alabama’s coastal towns, you’ll want to make time for the All Around Town ride. This route begins at the Gulf Shores Welcome Center, which is open daily and provides helpful tourism information about Gulf Shores. From there, you will need to put each of these attractions in your GPS and stop at them in order:

  • Harley-Davidson store in Pensacola: An iconic motorcycle store located on Pensacola Blvd
  • Red Hill Spring in Stockton: A park featuring a natural spring full of cold, clear, delicious water. You can bring a jug to fill up at the spring and take with you through the rest of your ride. 
  • Historic Blakeley State Park: A beautiful state park in Baldwin County that is home to the last major battle site of the Civil War. This park offers hiking, biking, boating, and other activities, along with a taste of history from the 1860s. 
  • Desoto Seafood Kitchen: An authentic seafood restaurant with coconut shrimp and other customer favorites. This restaurant is back in Gulf Shores, and you can end your trip with a belly full of delicious seafood.
