What Is the Barber Motorsports Park?
The Barber Motorsports Park is a multi-purpose racing facility and event center spanning 880 acres. This facility sits on the eastern edge of Birmingham, Alabama, and houses a 2.38-mile, 17-turn road course.
George Barber built the Barber Motorsports Park in 2003, and Alan Wilson designed the road course. The course is viewable at an incline from natural banks across the park.
This 2.38-mile racing course includes several elevation changes and is designed to be run clockwise. It features two cutoff turns, which organizers can use to shorten the track for events. The course also includes a tunnel underneath Turn 12 that allows maintenance and emergency vehicles to enter the infield.
Unlike many large-scale racecourses, the Barber Motorsports Park track features no spectator seating at the finish line. However, spectators can watch the races from the elevated embankments around the track or temporary grandstands organizers set up for larger race weekends.

The Barber Museum spans 144,000 square feet across five levels. The museum is home to over 1,600 motorcycles representing 220 manufacturers from 22 countries. Currently, around 900 bikes are on display throughout the facility.
George Barber, Barber Motorsports Park’s founder, began collecting motorcycles 24 years ago. He opened the museum in 2003 using motorcycles from his own collection. Today, the Barber Museum is the largest philanthropic project in Alabama’s history to be taken on by one person.
