The Motorcycle Book Fundraiser in North Carolina

The Motorcycle Book Fundraiser in North Carolina gives you a chance to get on the road for a chill ride and support the love of reading in young kids. The event organizers aim to collect age-appropriate books for an elementary school in Lucama, NC, a Wilson County town.

Event at Barnes & Noble Morning Start

This event will take place on Saturday, March 4, between 10am and 2pm. The Book Run will start at Barnes & Noble, located at 3040 Evans St., Greenville, NC. The registration begins at 10:00, and the ride takes off at 11:00. Participants will bring two K-5th level books per bike.

The Plan for the Motorcycle Book Fundraiser in North Carolina

After collecting books, participating bikers will start the ride (approximately 40 miles) in the direction of Lucama, NC, enjoying the North Carolina countryside.

The ride will include a short stop at Cycle Max, a local motorcycle dealership in Wilson, NC, to receive the annual Blessing of the Bike. From there, the riders will continue to Lucama Elementary School, where they will deliver the books and have lunch before heading back.

As a participant in this event, you’ll know you’ve contributed toward the excellent goal of encouraging children to read. Bring books or a cash donation. Books should be for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade. The bookstore can recommend books at the event, if you don’t have time to pick them up beforehand.
