History of the Bealeton Flying Circus

The Bealeton Flying Circus has a rich history as the longest continuously running aviation show in Virginia and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020. In 1970, the Flying Circus Aerodrome consisted of pilots who flew replicas of World War I aircraft to show the public the “barnstorming” aviation techniques that were from that period in our nation’s history. Unfortunately, this took time, effort, and money. Luckily, a few members of the original group never gave up. Instead, they upgraded to newer aircraft and began flying again.

Now, the Flying Circus is famous for its pilots, who put on exhilarating displays of both land and air. Some of the planes include Champs, Fleets, Cubs, WACOs, Stearmans, and a high-performance MXS aircraft, which spews black smoke as it performs incredible aerial routines high in the sky.
