What Is Free Ride 2 Save Lives Course?
The Virginia State Police are hosting a free motorcycle assessment course to help riders improve their safety skills through the S.I.P.D.E (Scan, Identify, Predict, Decide, Execute) process. The course will cover unique situations, hazards, interstate safety, curve negotiations, and more. With the assistance of the Virginia State Police in a safe environment, you can sharpen your skills as a rider and do your part to reduce motorcycle accidents.
The event only has 30 spaces, so be sure to register as early as possible. You must adhere to the safety requirements upon arrival, including following the appropriate attire. The primary requirements are as follows:
- A DOT-approved helmet with eye protection
- A valid license with a Class ‘M’ endorsement
- Safe riding attire
- A liability waiver upon arrival
