Motorcycle riding has some of the broadest appeal of any activities in the United States. It can be done as a solo activity, in couples, or in groups. You can do it to ease stress, get your adrenaline pumping, or just for the hell of it. With so many different bikers all around town, getting together and swapping stories from the road is always a memorable experience. Motorcycle rallies in Texas are the perfect way to get out and meet your fellow riders and have a good laugh over a beer or two.
Motorcycle Rallies in Texas You Can’t Miss
Due to the sheer size of the state, the popularity of riding, and the number of events, we can’t cover them all. Additionally, with Covid-19 regulations in place, many social events have been cancelled, rescheduled, or reformatted. We decided to go with the most attended ones in the biggest cities, as well as a few of our tried and true favorites that are famous for their events. Check the rally’s official website for any updates, and remember that one day we’ll go back to normal life and our regularly scheduled events.
Bike Rallies in Dallas
Dallas is a popular (and historical) city for riders in the Lone Star State. Because of that, there’s plenty of events to bring the community together for a good time. Although 2020 has unfortunately resulted in many canceled events, there’s a lot to look forward to in the coming year! Some of the upcoming rallies include:
–Progressive Motorcycle Shows: (Jan 8th – Jan 10th, 2021): Showing off the immense Motoscape sponsored by Progressive Insurance, this global rally tour will find its way to Dallas for their winter 2021 schedule. Make sure to check their sites for updated ticket and procedure announcements.
–The Texas Toy Runs: There are two major toy runs that will take place in Dallas this year: The Texas Toy Run in November and Wise County Toy Run on the first Sunday in December. This is a great opportunity where families can come together during the holidays with meaningful charitable donations.
There are nearly 100 motorcycle rallies a year alone in Dallas, so make sure to take a thorough look at all the possibilities. Regardless of the events you choose, they’re bound to be a blast!
Bike Rally Galveston, TexAS
–Lone Star Rally: (Nov 4th – Nov 7th, 2021): Out of respect for Covid-19, this event has been moved to 2021 in person. However, there are discussions about putting together a virtual rally in lieu of the 2020 ride.
Austin, Texas Motorcycle Events
Austin has been a bike rally hub for decades and does a great job of keeping the old culture integrated with the new. Here are two of the select local rallies held in Austin for the near future:
–Republic of Texas: (June 10, 2021- June 13, 2021) The doors will open on the 20th in the “Music Capital of the World,” and the event will showcase why people in Austin believe that. There will be a 50-block section for riders to show off their bikes and enthusiasm on Congress Avenue, which will be certified by the Guinness Book of World records as the “Longest Parade of Motorcycles”
–The Hand Built Motorcycle Show: (November 13th – 15th, 2020) A great example of the new era blending with old-school rallies, this is a place where the craft of building motorcycles is on full display as art. There are still the group meet-ups, dinners, and rides, but the main focus of this show is to promote the culture of hand-built motorcycle prowess to a wide range of ages.
Houston, Texas Motorcycle Rally
–2nd Amendment Biker Rally: (November 5th – 7th, 2020) The rally starts on November 6th. We have partnered with Wind Therapy Freedom Riders and F-1 Firearms LLC to put on this great event. It is free to attend and there will be live music, games, giveaways, 50/50 drawing, and great food.
West Texas Motorcycle Rallies
–Tripps HD in Amarillo: This will take place at the end of July in 2021. It is a motorcycle raffle to benefit a local charity. The promotion will begin in April and goes until the winner is chosen.
-4:44 Moto Show: This takes place in September. This will have a custom motorcycle show organized by Rio Grande Shovelheads. It is an indoor motorcycle builder/riders show that includes both national and local vendors representing all types of motorcycles.
Rallies in San Antonio
San Antonio is home to prominent motorcycle groups in Texas such as the Holy Rollers, the Alamo City Riders, and other enthusiasts. These riders and other locals contribute to put on some amazing events, including:
–Hot Rods & Harleys: (October 10, 2020) This October festival meet up includes a pin up contest, a car and bike show, and all of the usual attractions for Texas style rallies. This is just the 2nd annual event, so you will be going to a completely new experience given the age of the show and the current social climate!
–Motorcycle Roundup at the Flying L: (October 17, 2020) An event that brings riders from all over to nearby Bandera, Texas (under an hour from San Antonio), this event supports two great charities in Riding for a Cure and the Veterans Assistance Dogs of Texas. Get tickets fast, as they are nearly sold out.
Once more, riding groups attend Republic of Texas (truly the statewide affair), and there will be new events popping up in the future, including virtual rallies and other socially distant opportunities.
A Riding Community That Supports You
No matter where the rally is or what group you’re a part of, the most important element of riding is protecting you and your crew. This includes comprehensive knowledge of safety, the laws, and having a knowledgeable attorney if you’re ever in need.
At Law Tigers, we have spent decades representing riders because motorcycles are our team’s passion as well. This gives us the experience necessary to protect our clients in any injury or lawsuit.
If you are in need of representation, please reach out today; we’d love to help.
