If you’re a motorcycle enthusiast in Chicago, you’ve probably heard of the Ride Janie Ride Foundation. This illustrious nonprofit raises money for cancer patients and has brought together the motorcycle community in the Chicagoland area for over 16 years.
If you’ve never heard of Ride Janie Ride, May 7 is the perfect time to check out this organization. The Ride Janie Ride Illinois Fundraiser will raise funds for cancer patients in the area. Here’s what you need to know.
17th Annual Ride Janie Ride Fundraiser
The 17th Annual Ride Janie Ride Event will happen on May 7, starting at the Illinois Harley-Davidson in Countryside. This group event includes a 50-mile fully escorted ride that ends at the CD & ME in Frankfort, IL.
Registration for the Ride Janie Ride Illinois Fundraiser will begin at 8:30am with kickstands up at 11am. The local band Blackberry Jam will be playing live music at the launch site. Registration costs are as follows:
- Adults: $30
- Youth (12-17): $20
- Children (5-11): $15
Make sure to pre-register early if you’d like an event t-shirt.
At the end of the group ride, bring your motorcycle to enjoy a fun after-party for all. With your registration cost, you’ll enjoy complimentary food and drinks and the opportunity to enter raffles, split the pot drawings, and attend live auctions. Even if you’re not a motorcyclist, you can attend the party and watch for the motorcyclists to arrive.
The Ride Janie Ride Foundation
Ride Janie Ride is a nonprofit founded in 2007 to support Janie Bawel, who was going through cancer treatments at the time. Since then, the organization has supported 81 cancer patients and relieved the financial burden of their treatments.
