Best Motorcycle Rides Near Tombstone

Here are a few routes near Tombstone that you can travel on your motorcycle:

Tombstone Hustle

If you’re looking for an adventurous off-road route, we recommend the Tombstone Hustle. This route is most common amongst “bikepackers,” who typically spend about two days riding its 72 miles on their bicycles. However, with extra care and diligence, you can ride this off-road path on your motorcycle.

The Tombstone Hustle is about 65% unpaved, but if the road is smooth enough for bicyclists, it should be manageable for your motorcycle. Additionally, about 13% of the route is single-lane.

During this remote motorcycle tour, you will pass several natural attractions that make Tombstone a popular hiking and biking destination. For example, part of this route enters the Dragoon Mountains, a 25-mile mountain range named for the Cavalry Dragoons of the Apache Wars. Even though this mountain range is small compared to many in Arizona, it still offers beautiful views and challenging elevation changes.

You’ll also enter a portion of Coronado National Forest, a U.S. National Forest spanning over 1.78 million acres through 16 mountain ranges. It offers numerous activities and attractions, giving you plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs and take in some of the desert forest scenery up close.

The Tombstone Hustle is not for the faint of heart, and we don’t recommend it for new riders. However, if you’re looking for a challenging motorcycle journey that takes you off the main roads and into the natural landscape, this ride is for you.
