FAQ

What is a Poker Run?

Organizers map a riding route with five stops along the way where riders pick up a card. At the end of the ride, each biker submits their hand. The winner with the highest hand can win the prize. A portion of the riders’ registration fees before the event builds the pot for the winning rider.

How does the Thanksgiving Heroes Group help Utah families?

The Thanksgiving Heroes hold fundraising events throughout the year and also accept donations. They use these funds to purchase turkeys, potatoes, boxed stuffing, and other Thanksgiving staples to distribute to underprivileged Utah families so they can have a delicious and nutritional Thanksgiving Day meal.

Thanksgiving Heroes partners with local businesses to sponsor the events and directly contribute to the cause. This year’s Thanksgiving Heroes 2nd Annual Turkey Run 2022 will include over 500 participants. Sponsors for large events can see a boom in popularity for their generosity in supporting a worthy cause, and events like this couldn’t happen without their support.

Can I still register for the Poker Run this year?

Registration runs through the morning of the event. Register and check-in with volunteers at the starting event tables in Midvale at the Landmark Grill.

Late registration can lead to higher entry fees for some events, so be sure to register as early as possible. Also, let your friends and family know that they can register for the cornhole tournament as non-riders to support a great cause in feeding Utah families at Thanksgiving.
