Have you ever heard of motorcycle ice racing? It’s an exhilarating motorcycle race where riders cruise along a thick layer of ice — and can’t use brakes.

Head to the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, WA, to witness some of the best motorcycle X-treme ice racing in Washington. Here’s what you need to know about this exciting event.

X-Treme International Ice Racing

X-Treme International Ice Racing is a league of professional riders from the U.S., Canada, Scotland, and England. Racers travel at lightning-quick speeds on an oval track covered in ice.

Racers ride special ice speedway bikes with a maximum of 14,000 revs, which is almost double the revs of the average car. Due to the slick surface of the roadway, brakes are ineffective on ice racing tracks, requiring racers to use strategic maneuverability to avoid losing control.

Ice racing bikes weigh just 180 pounds and carry 90 horsepower at their back wheels, creating a unique, challenging riding experience. Witness this feat of riding for yourself at the Motorcycle X-treme Ice Racing in Washington.
