About the Museum

Founded in 1992, the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum in Colorado is an educational non-profit dedicated to preserving and promoting motorcycling culture and history. Admission is free, and the museum is exclusively run by volunteers. 

One of the museum’s unique features is its location: It occupies the second floor of the Tejon Eatery in downtown Colorado Springs. The eatery itself serves as a teaser for the museum, with motorcycles attached to ledges along the walls and a rafter above the tables. You can grab a bite at the first-floor restaurant or have an ice cream or a drink at the vintage bar upstairs.

The museum boasts more than 75 vintage bike models from various brands, including:

The photograph collection is particularly impressive. Each image captures a pivotal moment in the development of the motorcycle industry or biker culture and comes with detailed captions explaining the subject and event.

Hall of Fame

The museum also features a one-of-a-kind Hall of Fame. Unlike other motorcycle museums, this Hall of Fame doesn’t only include legendary riders. You’ll also see many photographs of ordinary people who dedicated their lives to motorcycling, such as by developing new bike designs or contributing to influential events. Every year, the museum chooses new individuals and displays their photos in the Hall.

The Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum occupies the second floor of the Tejon Eatery at 19 N Tejon St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. It’s open Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round.

Admission to the museum is free, but the museum welcomes donations. Guided tours are available by appointment.
