Bennett Boyd Anderson, Jr., was raised in Lafayette, LA, graduating from Lafayette High School and University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly University of Southwestern Louisiana). He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Tulane Law School in 1975 at age 23. Since 1975, Bennett has practiced law continuously, specializing in Louisiana plaintiff personal injury and wrongful death litigation from offshore/maritime incidents, auto and workplace accidents. He has personally obtained more than $200 million for injured parties through jury trials, judge trials and settlements. Bennett has been an “AV” rated attorney by the Martindale Hubbell Rating Service (highest possible rating) for more than 25 years.

He has a Board Certification in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and has been honored as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” (2016-2020). Bennett has been selected as the “Lawyer of the Year” (Personal Injury, Lafayette, LA.) by Best Lawyers in 2020. Anderson has been designated as one of Louisiana’s outstanding personal injury attorneys (“Super Lawyers”) 2008-2020. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has been awarded the Presidential Award by the Lafayette Bar Association and is a lifetime Charter member of the Rue Ratings “Best Attorneys in America”.

Additionally, Bennett has served as an officer and/or director of many legal and civic organizations, including the Lafayette General Hospital Foundation (Chairman of Board of Directors, 2018-2020), IberiaBank (Advisory Board, 2002-2020), Lafayette Bar Association (Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President) and Louisiana Bar Foundation (Board of Directors). He is a member of the Louisiana and American Bar Associations as well as the Louisiana Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice.

Bennett has exclusively practiced plaintiff personal injury law in the Acadiana area for more than 40 years. He has been honored as a speaker many times at personal injury/maritime and personal injury/trial practice seminars.

He is a sixth-generation Lafayette Parish resident. Bennett maintains his home in Broussard, La., with his wife, Georgette, and three children. He is an Eagle Scout, avid outdoorsman, hunter, youth coach and tennis player.
