When people think of James Bond and his favorite vehicle, most think of the iconic Aston Martin—but we motorcycle enthusiasts remember the bikes! Motorcycles have played a big part in the classic Bond spy films, usually in thrilling chase scenes between Bond and the bad guys, and a few Bond bikes stick out in our memory. Our Law Tigers team put our heads together to share our seven best James Bond motorcycles.

1. BSA A65 Lightning 650 in Thunderball (1965)

The first bike on our list wasn’t ridden by Sean Connery but by the deadly Fiona Volpe in full leather. She chased down her enemies on a golden BSA A65 Lightning 650, taking them out with rockets mounted on the bike. The film crew shot the scene at the Silverstone racing circuit, where they dressed up the track to look like a public road.

2. Kawasaki Z900 in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

The Kawasaki Z900 made an appearance as the bike of choice for the bad guys chasing Bond in his famous submersible Lotus Esprit. Since it wouldn’t be a James Bond film without absurd gadgets, the Z900 featured an explosive sidecar that detaches from the bike and propels itself with rockets.

3. BMW R1200C in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

BMW partnered with the film, so of course, the newest (unreleased) bike at the time played a starring role. The movie featured the cream-colored BMW R1200C jumping two-up over a helicopter, an impressive stunt performed by the legendary French stuntman Jean-Pierre Goy.

4. Montesa Cota 4RT in Quantum Solace (2008)

It might be hard to tell under all the junk they used to make the bike look like an old scrambler, but Bond rides a Montesa Cota 4RT in his pursuit of Camille through the crowded streets of Haiti’s capital city. In the end, Bond makes a dramatic jump off the docks, hopping over one boat and landing the bike in another.

5. Honda CRF250R in Skyfall (2012)

Daniel Craig’s role in Skyfall has one of the most exciting bike sequences in any Bond film. The secret agent and his counterpart ride Honda CRF250Rs in a mad dash across the rooftops of Istanbul. Stunt rider Robbie Madison did most of the riding, and famous MX rider Rob Herring filmed the chase on his camera bike.

6. Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro in No Time To Die (2021)

The newest bond film features two Triumph bikes, one being the Tiger 900 Rally Pro. The film’s stunt coordinator and director wanted to use a rally racer, so the motorcycle’s maker suggested using the then-unrevealed Tiger 900 Rally Pro. The stunt coordinator praised the bike highly, dubbing it one of the best bikes he’d ridden. Triumph released a limited-time Bond Edition of the motorcycle for the most avid fans.

7. Triumph 1200 Scrambler XE in No Time To Die (2021)

Last but not least is the Triumph 1200 Scrambler XE. The bike is a retro-style off-road scrambler that stands out as the true star in No Time To Die. As Bond chased the bad guy through the Italian city of Matera, he drove the motorcycle up a crumbling wall to avoid a funeral procession, jumping 50 feet over the wall and landing perfectly just before he unceremoniously dumped the bike to pursue his target.
