Are you looking for a Texas motorcycle safety course or training program in San Antonio? Consider the San Antonio Motorcycle Safety Training Center. Training is located on the northside of San Antonio at the Rolling Oaks Mall. The training staff asks that you bring the following required gear:
- D.O.T. approved helmet (they will provide one if necessary)
- Shatter-resistant eye protection, including prescription glasses or sunglasses with plastic lenses
- Long sleeve shirt or jacket
- Jeans
- High-top shoes or boots to cover your ankles
- Gloves with fingers
- Rain gear
- Valid license or Class C driver’s permit
Another motorcycle safety course is Caliente Harley-Davidson which also offers beginner motorcycle lessons through the Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy New Rider Course. This training course combines in-class and on-range lessons where you can gain basic skills and knowledge to earn your motorcycle license. Motorcycles are provided. A three-hour online course must be completed before the in-person instruction commences and occurs over three consecutive days.
The Austin Moto Academy has a San Antonio location that offers a basic rider class with an emphasis on safety. This intensive program consists of five hours of online education and eleven hours of motorcycle training on the range. The range training is split over two days. To qualify for the class, you must have bike-riding ability and be able to lift a small motorcycle upright from its leaning position on the kickstand. While this class does not guarantee a certificate of completion, the trainers want to help you achieve your goal to become a motorcyclist. Austin Moto Academy’s class was developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and is taught nationwide.
Southwest Motorcycle Training is another option in San Antonio for aspiring motorcyclists and riders who want additional training. A proud family-owned and operated business, they offer motorcycle classes to those aged 15 and up. They are licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Try the Basic Riders Course, where you will learn how to operate a motorcycle, what protective clothing you must wear, and how to avoid dangerous situations.
