Saturday will also feature stunt performances by Ryan Kruesi and his band of riders, performing burnouts, wheelies, drifts and stoppies. Kruesi and crew will perform on the Malecón three times between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., with exact times TBA. Kruesi said if you have never seen the show, be prepared for some sick stunts by some of the best riders in the business.

“Being in Mexico is such a great vibe, the people are great, the food is great, it’s just an amazing experience,” Kruesi said. “There’s nothing like doing stunt riding on the beach, with the ocean at your back. The crowd is unreal and pumped to be there.”

Know Before You Go

Travel into Mexico requires riders pay attention to the country’s strict weapons policies and have proper registration and insurance for their motorcycles. Other vital information to know:

Do I need a passport?

YES! As of June, 2009, those traveling by land back into the U.S. need to present one of the following travel documents:

  • S. Passport
  • S. passport card (only valid for travel by land and sea)
  • Children under 16 arriving by land or sea my present an original or copy of birth certificate, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or a Naturalization Certificate
  • S. lawful permanent residents: Permanent resident card (Form I-551)
  • S. Military: Valid U.S. Military identification card when traveling on official orders

Do I need separate Mexican bike/car insurance?

YES! If you are driving in Mexico, you must have Mexican insurance. Most U.S. insurance policies DO NOT COVER TRAVEL IN MEXICO. There are many ways to obtain insurance. Talk to your insurance agent, or visit title sponsor Sanborn’s Mexico Auto Insurance for coverage for your Rocky Point Rally adventure.

Weapons/Drugs

Weapons, ammunition, and drugs are illegal in Mexico. Even a small pocketknife can land you in jail. Make sure you check all saddlebags and personal gear for bullets, too. The U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Mexico discuss items that can and cannot be brought into Mexico/U.S. here.
