Storey Park in Meridian, ID is the staging point for the run. Register from 10:30 a.m. – Noon, with KSU directly after. Cost to ride is $10, with proceeds benefiting the ICMS and Ride for 22. Doug Knehr, ICMS Club Liaison, said the event gives riders the opportunity to enjoy gorgeous fall weather and rides, but also catch up on important issues facing the riding community heading into the holidays and legislative season.

“Our group fights for motorcyclist rights and the freedom to ride and make smart choices,” Knehr said. “We encourage riders to get trained to handle different situations and to take some STARs classes to help with those skills.”

The Idaho STAR program stands for Skills Training Advantage for Riders. These courses not only help new riders earn their “M” class motorcycle endorsement, but also offer important information for experienced riders as well. Intermediate, advanced and Trike classes are available across the state, Knehr said. These events also help us raise monies for advocacy, lobbying efforts and more.

“When we gather together, we share important information about issues facing us as riders,” Knehr said. “From updates on road conditions, to federal and local laws, to how to handle situations like car snakes and rider-down, our aim is to educate and have fun in the process.

The Fall Fun Run route is determined the day of the event, and generally follows what the weather and road conditions are the day of. Knehr said if the weather is good, a northern route up to Emmett via Horseshoe Bend is taken. If the weather isn’t so great, a southern route along the Snake River down to Bruneau and back is taken. Once the ride is over, everyone meets up for a meal and camaraderie and to discuss any important info riders need to know.

Storey Park is located at 205 E. Franklin Rd, Meridian, ID. For more information about the Idaho Coalition of Motorcycle Safety, visit their webpage.
