Three Must-See Stops on the Tour

This ride is filled with awesome sights. These three must-see stops along the Kalispell to Libby Loop in Montana include the following.

Eureka

Eureka is a small, quaint tobacco town just minutes from the Canadian border that’s a great place to explore during your trip. Be sure to fill your tank and stretch your legs before heading out.

As you leave, Montana Highway 37 will lead you toward the Koocanusa Bridge. After crossing the bridge, take Yaak Valley Road East into the town of Yaak.

Yaak

Yaak is a mountain town with plenty to do. The Yaak Falls, a cascading waterfall that drops between a breathtaking mountain valley, is inspirational. Yaak is also a great place to explore and have lunch. If you are hungry, visit The Dirty Shame Saloon for some excellent food, beverages, and company. Yaak is also home to the Yaak River Tavern and Mercantile. Either place is sure to fill you up for the balance of the ride.

From Yaak, continue toward the town of Troy while riding along the Kootenai River. Be prepared to stop at Mile Marker 21 to snap a picture of the Kootenai Falls.

Kootenai Falls

The Kootenai region of Montana is sacred to the Native Americans, whose name it bears and who have inhabited this land for centuries. Be sure to allow a sufficient amount of time to explore the falls, which are sacred to the tribe.

The Kootenai Falls are one of the largest waterfalls by flow in the western United States, as the undammed Kootenai River drops 300 feet in elevation in a few hundred yards. Follow the trail through the forest and down to the falls from the parking lot. The scenery may appear familiar as you may have seen this location in movies such as The Revenant. A swinging bridge at the bottom provides an unparalleled view of the falls.
